This was a cool custom strip pedal built for Peter Rouse from Los Angeles, CA. It features an A/B input for switch between two different signal- perhaps two electrics, acoustic and electric, or even between an electric and piano. The A/B input is then sent to four true bypass loops with a loop order switcher that swaps the order of loops two and three. We have actually developed a pedal that does this by itself, but do not have it listed on the website yet. Switching the order of pedals can be a big deal and almost give you completely new sounds with your effects. A very good example would be switching the signal order of a fuzz and delay pedal. With the fuzz pedal first, you are simple using the delay as normal by delaying your signal after the fuzz tone is created. With the delay before the fuzz, you are actually delaying the fuzz and causing the actual delay tones to be fuzzy. Try it. Once we have the Effect Order Swapper/Switcher out, we will post a video showing this demonstration. This was a cool project to build and will be very useful. Want your own custom strip?

You meet a lot of great people on Craigslist. Especially in places like Nashville. I bought an item from a guy here in Nashville off of Craigslist. When we met up, we got to talking and he asked if I could build him come custom pedals. He asked for a custom volume pedal, and this custom Skinny Looper. Through conversation during production he asked for a few other things like the A/B Output option. Long story, but it basically left an unused hole in the pedal. So I decided to make use of that extra hole. I drilled two more, and installed a small Nose Voltilizer in the pedal too. So this pedal has a lot going for itself. It’s a 5 channel true bypass looper with the ability to select between two amps, or two signal paths… and it can also adjust the voltage of another pedal, or group of pedals with the Power Out. Pretty neat custom job. So in good Craigslist fashion, yesterday we met up again at Starbucks to hand off the pedals. Hope you enjoy them Chris! Thanks!

Both a name and a reality- nightmare looper switcher. This was a recent custom project for a customer. This guy wanted a lot of features put into one pedal. It has 4 loop channels, a master bypass switch, and an internal effect order switcher that switches the order of loop channels 3-4 to 4-3. The effect order switcher is amazing. It allows for so many possibilities for new ways to use your effects. Did you know that by just switching the order of say a Fuzz pedal and a Delay to the Delay first then the Fuzz, that it will completely change the way it sounds? This method of switching is also great for changing the order of a Volume Pedal. You can actually set the order switcher up so that your volume pedal can be at the beginning of your pedal chain for volume (guitar volume) swells and switch to the end of your pedal chain for overall pedalboard volume and amp volume control. Crazy cool. With a master switch, 4 loops, and an order switcher, there are many ways to make this nightmare useful!

Project finished on 2-19-13 by Aaron Tomberlin, President/Creator.

This was a beast to build! Fun though. Named it the Big Red… well, because it’s big and red and it needed a name for the website. This came from a custom order from a guy in Australia. Too much stuff? Not for him. He was actually looking for something that he could control with his hands in the studio, and for live performances. This board has 12 TRS expressions on it… he had a lot of pedals that he wanted to be able to control on the fly. It also features two feedback loopers, with true bypass toggles. Pretty cool idea for what he needed. The customer actually picked out his enclosure that we ordered for him to build this job. If you’re interested in a custom pedal, let this be an inspiration to you… you can get crazy and create all types of neat this. As long as it’s possible, we’ll build it for you To get started on a custom project, go to the custom order form found in the navigation of the website and fill it out. We’ll get back to you on ideas and quotes. Custom pedal are fun, built to your needs for your pedalboard, and definitely boutique- no one else in the world will have your pedal.

Keys players, don’t ever feel left out. Who says that effects pedals, and pedal boards are only for guitar players? There are so many keyboard/piano players out there who use guitar pedals. Especially those utility musicians that play both guitar and keys on tour. So why not have keyboard pedals, and even share your keyboard with your whole guitar pedalboard? It’s so easy. Recently, we had a keyboardist, Nathan Mateer from Rockwall, TX, order a custom pedal from us that would be used with his Line 6 DL4 Delay pedal that is connected to his keyboard. Delay and piano is great! So as many of you already know, the DL4 is a great pedal but when you turn it off, it will lose the tap tempo you’ve set- it resets to saved settings only. So, never turn it off! We built Nathan a pedal that he could put up on his keyboard that would turn on and off the stereo channels of his DL4, along with a TS expression knob where he could open up more delay settings. Essentially, two true bypass loops and a Nose Purp Expression in one pedal. This proved to be very useful for him. By engaging and disengaging the DL4 only with the loops on the Nose pedal, his tap tempo could always stay where he needed it.

So, what about using your whole pedal board with both your guitar and keyboard rig? Just get a Nose A/B Line Switcher. This little pedal will allow you to run both your guitar and keyboard signal to the inputs “A” and “B”, then run the output to your tube amp. Just put the A/B switcher at the beginning of your pedal chain so that you can use all of your pedals with both instruments, make sure your volumes are adjusted, and you’re ready to go. What a space and money saver!

We’ve been getting a lot of cool custom orders in, and been having a blast building them. This yellow control strip was built for Andrew Miller in Westerville, OH. Thanks Andrew, hope you are enjoying it. He needed one custom pedal built that would basically control his entire pedal board- expressions, tap tempo, volume, etc. This custom pedal features a 3-way multi tap tempo switch which will control up to three different pedals with a tap tempo out jack, and sync them all at the same time. Above the tap tempo switch, there is one true bypass loop installed. You need at least one loop on your board. This loop can be used to turn one pedal into a true bypassed pedal, used to group two or three effects as one effect, or even used to loop in the entire pedalboard and enable or disable all the effects. This is great for when you just need a signal straight from your guitar to your amp, bypassing all of your effects which can muddy up your natural tone. Then we get to the knob in the middle, which is a volume control. Again, you can use this many different ways- at the front, or at the end of your effects signal. Finally, we have two TRS expression knobs that will control the expression settings for pedal brands like Boss & Electro Harmonix that have TRS Expression outputs.
So, very cool custom control strip. We can also build these in big flat rectangle shaped enclosures, if you need a different setup. Andrew did it nice though. He wanted to put this control strip to the right end of his pedalboard, and connect everything on the left side. And what’s even better? This pedal is completely passive- it requires absolutely no power to function! This makes for an easy setup, as well as easy access to all the knobs and switches with his foot. You can see a few pictures below of the pedalboard example. A control strip, or box, is a must have on your pedalboard. It’ll save you tons of money and space; you’ll get more out of your effects; and you can even design them where they don’t need power to function.
